Poem Published in UC-Irvine Journal!

My poem “Meadow//Human Relief” has been published in UC-Irvine’s 2025 Spring Journal! The journal is known as “New Forum” and features a lot of fantastic works by many creators. https://sites.uci.edu/newforum/

It was a fantastic experience attending the launch event, where I was able to recite my poem with many people in attendance, and also listen to many talented creators share their works as well. I really appreciate all of the editors and creators of the New Forum journal for all the work they put into it. It feels great to have one of my works featured on my home campus! 🙂

Meadow//Human Relief was written originally on the WritingErickson blog on January 30th. It was written right before “Via Iter Verba #4” which outlines some of the conflicting feelings I was having with my life at the time. The poem Meadow//Human Relief plays with the complexities of being human, offering new ways of viewing the human condition by playing with nature and other ideas. In part, the poem seeks to ask: is there a way to escape the human condition?
